About the Owner:

Hi there! I am a proud Oklahoman (go Cowboys), transplanted to Minnesota and then to Tennessee. My husband and I and our 4 children have lived in Tennessee for the past 12 years. We love the rolling hills and mountains, the outdoors and the coziness of being together as a family. Our children our 25, 22, 18 and 15. Our daughters are both married so when we decided to endeavor on our cabin, we chose one that would sleep our family perfectly. 3 couples, 2 boys and their friends! We live a very busy life during the week going to and from activities and work and trying to find little times to get together with each other. So the Rockin R Lodge came from our family wanting to find a place we could escape to from the hustle and bustle and just enjoy one another, while still being super close to restaurants and activities during the day! My husband grew up on a horse and cattle ranch in Oklahoma and their “brand” was the rockin R! So we embraced that idea and carried it on to our new cabin. Especially when we discovered this porch would allow everyone to rock away in a rocking chair together. You will see touches of the “Rockin R” throughout the cabin in each room! My passion is finding a house and making it a HOME! So we hope that you find our cabin to be your next home away from home.

Why we chose Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Sevierville

When we began looking for a cabin, we wanted to make sure our entire family could come enjoy it too! We looked at many cabins and when this one popped up we knew it was the one. We had dreamed of purchasing a log cabin in our hometown and refurbishing it for our home and I learned so much about log cabins in the process. The chinking and the hand hewn, the different kinds of logs and the different roofing material and of course the amazing porches! So the beauty of this cabin just had it all. Real logs in every room and just amazing touches that make it feel authentic and like you went back in time with all the up-to-date amenities. We love nature and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park – I lose my breath every time I drive into the park and pull over to see why we call them the Great Smoky Mountains! They are beautiful and just a short drive from the cabin. Of course Dollywood and Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are less than 30 minutes away. We wanted to create the perfect family environment, so we based all the areas on what our family loves. Upstairs in the loft, you can snuggle up and read in our reading area with over 120 books to choose from if you forget your own. There is also a table for 4 for cards, puzzles and games where you can still hear the fun going on in the kitchen and great room below. The basement is a family must have filled with everything fun!!! Bunk room for 4, Theater room and game room. Just out the basement door is the large brand new hot tub ready for relaxing. On the main floor you have the fully updated kitchen with new appliances and dinnerware for 12 and all the pots and pans and cookie sheets you need for a fabulous family meal. And the cozy vaulted ceiling great room with leather couches and “Ralph Lauren” inspired chairs will have you snuggled up by the fire laughing and spending cozy time together with the family making memories for a lifetime.

What makes our Cabin unique

What I love about our cabin…the peace and togetherness! It’s peaceful and quaint, the hand hewn logs are what movie scenes are made from (I envision many a Christmas card photo on that huge front porch rocking away!). I fell in love with the location, the woods, the mountains off in the distance, the peaceful sound of birds and the wind blowing in the trees. It is a time to get away and truly vacation. You feel rested and charged up when leaving instead of needing another vacation from your vacation. We hope you come experience the Rockin R Lodge for yourself – we look forward to having you.
